The Clones of twitter ? Why do we need them !

‘Clones’ . threads, bluesky , mastodon , are about the same of what twitter (x) does already and that’s why I called them clones , they are similar , X (twitter) is already popular but why these exist , and why do we need this kind of add . All of this we are talk in this newsletter

What is twitter and why its so popular ?

I think we people who are constantly on internet who uses x(twitter) don’t understand that twitter is also not popular enough , even though there are lot of people using the X(twitter) daily , but there is also majority of people using internet , using other platform like Instagram but don’t know what is X(twitter) and how to use it , and I am not even talking about our parents generation , but also even my generation people , they don’t know what to do with the X(twitter) , even though they use Instagram , facebook and the funniest part is even after threads lot of people created threads account from Instagram ,  but now they are asking what do I even do with this , and I think people should understand that why X(twitter) is popular , even what is use of it , and then we can go on the other apps like threads and get to know why we need them .

So what is twitter ,

Texting is the fastest way to communicate , or even phrasing it other words , giving an info about something , or even having a conversation texting is way more convenient in certain conditions . This is what X(twitter ) does , making conversation and connecting with people globally . And now its not just about having a conversation and discussion , now it more like getting an news update faster than any other media and also from other platforms . That’s why people use it now for getting a faster communication with world and getting that news fast , even now lot of companies , their announcement are done on X because of it text base platform , and that’s not what an Instagram post do for you , and that’s why it is popular and used more , even more frequently because of how its updating the posts , it is easier to do on X than a platform because its mainly a photo and video format . And it great for people who are using it and know how to use it .

Now that we know what is X and why is popular , lets talk about the other apps that are similar to X , that I called them clones at start .

IF ITS GOOD , THEN WHY WE NEED OTHER APPS?

I think it’s a obvious think to do for a company , let me explain here , do you know those late night show , there are lot of those right and fundamentally they do the same thing , but in their own way . That’s what this different apps do , they basically do the same text based conversation , discussions , but have their own way . Through their design structure , even though it so looks similar , it gives the vibes of something is similar here but not entirely , it draws the attention , it gives the feeling of we are using something same , but it is a different app and you are starting from zero there . I know it’s a bit psychology talk but it work for me.

My threads experience ,

When i first saw that meta is getting an app like threads , which will be similar to the X(twitter) and I though it will be a flop it will never work on me and that was basically my first thread about to . Then eventually I after a while I was getting involved more with the threads app , because I was discovering more new people , more new threads that are being discuss on the topics I like and the threads was the app where I got into conversation and discussion more niche topics than I would ever have on X(twitter) . Then after a while it was gone to , because the user base increase and I never found those types of threads and I now use threads just like X (twitter) .

Then this other apps come in light for me like mastodon and bluesky , same interface as X and threads but with slightly different , then same stories with these apps .    

What’s the difference Between them and X(twitter) , threads who has massive user base .

Iast week we talk about the FEDIVERSE , and if you know what it is then you can see where this apps are going to get in future , see threads got the large user base because of Instagram their most popular platform and their unlike to happen to other platforms .

So what they do is get federated among themselves to get a large of user base , but its not the goal to go the large user base , but to get a platform where we can get our niche topics discussed , have conversation apart from politics , news and have your feed whole about for example about the topics of camera . You can then have your own feed of whatever topics you want and not just from one platform but all the other platform because these new platform will be federate in future .

And as this apps are in future are federated , you as a user won’t have to have this many different apps , that basically does the same thing , so you can use one app that you like as user experience to you and can see those all post of people you follow and people who follows you won’t have to switch apps and can see your posts together everywhere on every app that you use , and that’s why I said that this all other apps that are like clones of X(twitter) threads , mastodon, bluesky will be useful in future because they will be in FEDIVERSE because they have already started it and we can soon see that future of social media where it will be easier for us to even connect to people around the globe more than we are now .
