A New Way of Social Media ! Fediverse ?

Federating the social media platform . Is kind of a new term in the ongoing social media platform’s that is really interesting way to look at the platforms and for upcoming social media platforms .

Lets start by what it actually means , so threads added a beta setting that when you turned it on , you can interact with the platform even when you are using a different platform like mastodon in this case . That means if i am using mastodon and i follow the threads account user then i can interact with this threads user post from mastodon , like for an example if someone i follow on threads posted something on threads then i can interact with that post from mastodon , that means i can like , reply to that post from a different social media platform that are in this whole fediverse , right now only mastodon has been federated with the threads and now users from canada , australia and Japan .

Its confusing for now and its not that complicated to , let me explain so lets assume that this all apps are fedarated with each other , now if lets talk about threads , bluesky , mastodon , X this three are basically have the same way to interact , what i mean by that is in this three social media platform are doing same with different interface .

Now in when this all are federated with reach other , then if you follow my twitter account and then you logged off from the platform and go the threads platform because you love its interface or whatever your reasons are and then while using threads you can still see my posts from twitter , even you can like it, repost it , reply it from threads on threads and i will be able to see this likes , comments in my twitter account posts , even from followers count to , its like a giant activity interconnected with each other .

The reason to do it , now there are lots of social media platforms and new are being created , as a user its really good for us to interact with each other across all other platforms without even having all this apps in our phones , because all these new platforms coming and users being going platforms to platforms , like basically twitter , threads , mastodon , bluesky do the same thing with different interface and some people prefer different interface and the functionality if provides .

It sounds confusing and its difficult to grasp things at once but , its just a initial stage we are right now there are lot of things in between like why big sites like twitter want to do it even , because of large number of audience it has already and other side why threads is going on this route because it also has more than 100m users , so also there’s a business side to this to . Its new but it definitely a new way to connect with everyone and a new age of social media for us , because ultimately we are the people who are running this platforms and its all for us in the end . So even if it doesn’t work or we see companies are just trying to make money this will now be forever . In the end its all up to us how we use it .
